Sparks Children’s Ministry
Sparks Children’s Ministry is dedicated to igniting a love for God’s Word in the hearts of children through engaging, age-appropriate teaching. Our mission is to help children grow in their faith by exploring Scripture in ways that are both meaningful and memorable. Through interactive Bible lessons, hands-on activities, and worship, we aim to build a strong foundation of biblical truth, equipping kids with the knowledge and confidence to live out their faith in everyday life. We believe that every child is a precious creation of God, and our ministry is committed to fostering an environment where they feel loved, valued, and encouraged in their spiritual journey.
Creativity is at the heart of everything we do in Sparks Children’s Ministry. We bring Bible stories to life through dynamic storytelling, music, drama, crafts, and games that make learning about God’s love both fun and impactful. Our team is passionate about helping children experience God in ways that speak to their unique personalities and interests. Whether through a hands-on science experiment that illustrates a biblical truth or an engaging group discussion that encourages real-world application, we strive to make each lesson an exciting adventure. Above all, our goal is to help children develop a personal relationship with Jesus and to spark a lifelong passion for following Him.
Ministry Leaders: Nathan & Mary Merriweather
Nathan and Mary Merriweather have been a devoted couple for nearly 22 years, raising two grown children while dedicating their lives to faith and service. Their commitment to their church community has been evident through years of teaching and leadership. From shaping young minds in the preschool and kindergarten classes to guiding middle school students in Sunday School, they have poured their hearts into nurturing the next generation. Their journey in ministry expanded as they took on the role of Sunday School Directors, where they brought creativity and vision to life by launching the innovative children’s ministry program, Sparks.
In addition to their shared ministry, Nathan has contributed his talents to the worship team as a drummer and previously served as the church’s media director, helping to enhance the church’s outreach and presentation. Together, Nathan and Mary have modeled a life of joyful service, spiritual dedication, and family-centered leadership. Their unwavering commitment continues to inspire those around them and enrich the life of our church that they faithfully serve.
